You're just going to have to trust me.

So, the long anticipated Knitted Dove collection has finally arrived in the store. I couldn't even help myself. I bought a dress before my shift even ended.

Reasons to love Knitted Dove:
1. First of all, the quality of the clothing is great. The dress I bought has one of those nifty little slips attached to the dress to keep the peeping Toms out. It is seriously the softest thing I have ever felt. I want a body suit made out of the material to wear under all of my clothes.
2. Now, since I can't find any pictures of what all I purchased you are just going to have to trust me when I tell you the clothes are so so so cute. Knitted dove is not an easy brand to find on the world wide web. The dresses and such that we got in the store range from totally bohemian "going to the farmer's market" to that perfect little black dress.
3. Last but not least, the price is excellent. All are under $100, which is great for all of us starving college students who like to look like we aren't, in fact, starving college students.

Unfortunately, I can't find any pictures of these delightful little treasures so you are just going to have to trust me... Or wait till I just post a picture of me wearing my darling plum embroidered dress and a giant grin of satisfaction.

Dear Johnny

I'm LOVING the new collection from Johnny Was. I love the soft, muted colors with pops of neon, and the layers on layers on layers. I also think the styling of the accessories is genius--perhaps the beginning of a new trend?

Love is in the air!

And it struck me the second I saw this dress. I am going to agree with Julia on LOVING Trashy Diva. If you don't already know, I recently purchased this beautiful little piece of heaven by Trashy Diva:

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I am a frugal college student [not to be mistaken with "cheap"], and at $242 I was feeling it was too rich for my blood. But let me tell you, as soon as I slipped this puppy on it was all over. I needed it. It fits like an absolute dream. Now, I am not a thin girl, I have a little meat on my bones at a size 10. In this dress I feel about a size 2. Not to mention the 100% silk feels fantastic.

So, I took the plunge and bought it. So worth it! Definitely one of the better decisions I have made lately. It has already gotten a lot of wear so far, and it will be super cute with the sleeves cuffed for summer.

Someone high five me because I am totally thrilled about owning this dress.

{Post Number One -aka- Gushing About My New Purchase}

First and foremost, Alison! What a brilliant idea! I'm so excited to have a place to talk about our favorite little boutique.

Secondly...

GUESS WHO BOUGHT THIS BEAUTY TODAY?

For those of you who have ever met me ever, you know that this gorgeous creation stole my heart from day one. I've gabbed about it, tried it on, and lusted after it for months now, and now it gets to live in my closet. How about that.

So did you think I was done gushing? Well, you were wrong. Dead wrong. This dress makes my heart flutter for several reasons. I shall make a list:

1. I just love Trashy Diva. I love Candace Gwinn. I love her vision and I think she designs dresses that make a gal (of any size and shape) feel like a woman, and a hot one at that. I love that she designs her own beautiful fabrics. And I love that she lives in New Orleans.

2. I love the way it makes me feel. You know when you're watching Say Yes to the Dress (just admit it) and bride puts on THE dress, looks in mirror, smiles, maybe cries, nods, and says, "This is it! This is the one!" Well, I had that moment the first time I tried on this dress.

3. It SO reminds me of my grandmother, Iris Wood Smith (awesome name). She died when I was quite young, and was sick for a long time before that. But she was my grandmother, and there is some part of her in me--I just know it. And as tangible and worldly and fleeting as this cotton dress may be, it is, at the very least, a symbol of our connectedness. And that is powerful.

Clearly #3 on the list is the most important, and ultimately what makes Lucille Elaine so incredible.
