Locked Up Love

With all the talk about the great garb here at Lucille Elaine, I thought I would do my part to let you all know that we sell fabulous jewelry, as well! I recently bought a piece that is near and dear to my heart...literally! This lockett has become one of my favorite accessory pieces for a few reasons. 1) it's an elephant riding a bike, so of course it's totally cool. 2) the glass flower charms are the prefect embellishement and add just the right amount of whimsy.
And lastly, 3).........

I can keep the 2 men in my life near and dear to me at all times!

Oh, I how I love these sweet boys and oh how I love my treasured lockett!
You can find them here at Lucille Elaine for $28.00, or a larger size is available for $32.00

Swirling and Twirling Day Dress

There's something about putting on a pair of patent leather heels and a dress that sinches your waist that makes you feel invincible!

I keep making excuses to wear my circle skirt day dress. Candice Gwinn must have looked into my mind and pulled out this little gem, because if I'd designed the perfect dress for myself this would be it. It makes me want to bake a casserole while listening to Buddy Holly. But its not 1958 and I'm a working woman, so I'll content myself to wearing it while listening to my Dick Clark's all Time Hits of the 1950's on my iPod in the car between errands, meetings, and trips to the printers. And maybe when I get home at night exhausted from a days work I'll re-apply my knock off Chanel Rouge Lipstick in Red N°5, look in the mirror and have dreams of hosting parties in lace frilled hostess aprons while my perfect husband shows slides of our latest trip to Niagra Falls :)

The Favorite Bombshell Moment Giveaway

For me this one is pretty simple.

I was 16, awkward as heavens and in New York with my mom. With time to kill we walked into Boyd's of Madison Avenue, one of Ms. Monroe's favorite stops in the big apple. A drug store for the Rockefeller set, the place was chock a block full of old money, diamond encrusted scrunchies and women shopping for unmentionables in their late winter mink. (Very against fur in principle, but Boyd's is hard to picture without it.)

Cue middle aged woman with thick NY accent, "Doll, your eyes would be beautiful if your eyebrows didn't look like thick bars on your forehead. Sit down. Let me make you pretty."

Ladies and Bombshells of the jury, I did sit down and I did let her make me look pretty. I was tweezed, rouged and red lipsticked. She told me stories about the famous and infamous that had shopped there and I pretended to know who they were.

An hour and a half later, "Honey, we are done. Go look at yourself."

Three steps to the mirror. What do I look like? Art Deco Goddess? Screen siren in the style of Lamar, Hepburn, Gabor? Surely, I have finally been transformed....
and in a way I had. Screen siren I was not. But my eyes were brighter, lips colorful and smiling. Stripped of insecurities and painted with a hint of blush, I was the person I always imagined people might see if I could stop getting in my own way.

So maybe I had a heart attack when the sales associate rang up all of that make up. Maybe we spent so much we could only afford dirty water hot dogs for the rest of the trip. Maybe self discovery through cosmetics seems superficial. It doesn't matter. For the first time I looked like the girl I knew I was.

Now it is your turn!

If You've Never Been in Love Before

Get ready for it.

Our lovely little shop has started selling a brand of shoes call Remix. They are beautifully made, totally vintage inspired, hot to trot pumps made from Spanish leather.

The Taxi style is my favorite that we have right now. They just scream "unattainable hot secretary from the 50's".

Now pick your heart up off the floor and come try these little beauties on.

The Dream Dress

Sometimes I dream I own a cottage by the beach. The walls are whitewashed and the floors creak. There are three typewriters. One of them works. Croissants and chocolate for breakfast followed by a morning walk in a dress just like this one from Suzabelle.

So maybe I live in Provo where beachside cottages are hard to find. Maybe my ONE typewriter is too functional to be poetic. You know what I *do* have? Croissants and chocolate and my suzabelle dress. For this shopgirl that is just enough.

Signtists & Saloons

Signtist V-Dress

Saloon Strap Dress Front

Saloon Strap Dress Back

Meet Odd Molly. I've fallen hard for the Summer collection. It's lace and ruffles and frayed edges and flowers. It's lighthearted and whimsical and flirty and perfect for the upcoming sunshine. The get-ups shown here are only two of the many darlings new to Lucille Elaine. And even though Odd Molly is one of our luxury lines, the Saloon Strap dress rings up at a mere $102! (A STEAL for the divine cotton and gorgeous embroidery.) Good news, ladies, there's enough Odd Molly to go around. But maybe not for long!
